The 2025 Winter Sports Awards Night honors and recognizes all the accomplishments made by York High School’s sports teams and student athletes throughout the winter season. On this night, each team is called up on stage, and the athletic director gives a summary of their season and accomplishments. Individual awards are also received, including the Western Maine All-Conference and All-Academic Awards, and the Randy Lavigne “for the love of the game” award.
The athletes who receive the Western Maine All-Conference awards are voted on and nominated by the coaches that are a part of the Western Maine Conference. The award recipients are as follows:
Boys Basketball: Lukas Bouchard (1st Team), Reece MacDonald (1st Team), Ryan Cummins (3rd Team), and Jack Joyce (1st Team; All Defensive Team)
Girls Basketball: Nya Avery (1st Team), Piper Catanese (2nd Team), Maddigan Fitzgerald (1st Team, All Defensive Team), and Piper Catanese (2nd Team; All Defensive Team)
Boys Indoor Track and Field: Charles Drake (1st Team Senior Division 55m Hurdles), Asher Kuhn (1st Team Junior Division 55m Hurdles), Trueman Thompson (2nd Team 55m Hurdles), and Aidan Ring (1st Team 1 Mile and 2 Mile)
Girls Indoor Track and Field: Karianna Hultstrom (1st Team 55m Hurdles), June Conte (2nd Team High Jump), Zoe Carroll (1st Team 1 Mile and 2nd Team 800m)
The Western Maine All-Conference Awards for Boys Ice Hockey, Wrestling, Alpine Skiing, and Nordic Skiing are not yet available.
The following senior student athletes have maintained a 93 or above Grade Point Average throughout all of high school and received the Western Maine Conference All-Academic Award:
Boys Basketball: Jack Joyce
Girls Basketball: Emerson Joyce and Lindsay Rivers
Unified Basketball: Evan Anastas, Conor Fell, Kai Nelsen, and Quinn Walenta
Boys Ice Hockey: Jordan Caracoglia, Conor Fell, Michael Hanlon, and Dylan Jones
Wrestling: Tate Kuhn
Boys Indoor Track and Field: Aidan Ring
Girls Indoor Track and Field: Veda Kiper Phelps
One athlete from each team is nominated by their coaches for the Randy Lavigne “for the love of the game” award, and out of those athletes, two receive the award. The athletes who were nominated were Jack Armlin (Boys Basketball), Lindsay Rivers (Girls Basketball), Maclean Douris (Boys Ice Hockey), Eliza Woods (Girls Ice Hockey), Christopher Koconis (Wrestling), Cooper Dodge (Alpine Skiing), Aidan Ring (Boys Indoor Track and Field), and Eliza Dunn (Girls Track and Field). The two winners of the Randy Lavigne “for the love of the game” award were Lindsay Rivers and Cooper Dodge.
In addition to the Western Maine All-Conference and All-Academic awards, there are a couple of other recognitions as well. Lukas Bouchard was nominated for the McDonald’s All-American, and Coach Matt Regan was selected as the McDonald’s Class B Coach of the Year. Samantha Jones was also selected for the Girls Ice Hockey team.
