On October 10th, the Northern Lights were visible from many of our backyards. While the aurora borealis is most commonly associated with the Arctic regions, during periods of high solar activity, the lights can be seen as far south as Maine. With the perfect conditions during periods of high solar activity, the lights can be seen more south, even reaching Maine. This photo is from York Beach, ME.
