With graduation fast approaching we will be saying goodbye to this year’s seniors as they move on from high school. One of these seniors is the Agamenticus Sun’s own Molly Kenealy. Molly in the last year has stepped up as an editor and is diligent in her role of leading the newspaper and its staff. Molly is not only a significant part of our newspaper, she is also a talented athlete and scholar. She has played an important role in many state, regional, and conference victories across her sport seasons, such as the first and second ever in history state championship victories for York girls cross country. She is the 2021 800 meter outdoor track state champion, a multiple time 4×800 state champ, has won 6 team state championships, is a 3 time indoor track MVP, is a 2 time outdoor track MVP, has countless all conference and all state awards through all sports, all academic senior team, is a school record holder 4×800 and has more than 14 individual state medals. Molly’s leadership capabilities shine in athletics, as shown by her role as co-captain of this year’s cross country team. Molly will be bringing her academic and athletic skills to Queen’s University in Ontario next year, where we believe she will thrive and do incredible things. In terms of academic achievement Molly has had Honor Roll or High Honors almost every quarter in high school, is in the top 10% of her graduating class, received the Princeton Alumni Book Award in junior year, received Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens award in senior year and earned an underclass award in French 3 during sophomore year. We will miss Molly very much and we hope that she builds on the massive successes she has gained in her years at York and in the Newspaper.
